Inside Hankook's facilities

Take a tour of Hankook's two Korea factories in Geumsan and Daejeon. The Geumsan plant is fully automated and has an annual production capacity of 24 million units. It covers an area of approximately 872,000m2. The Daejeon factory is located near the company's R&D center and also an annual output of 24 million units.

The tire maker's G'Trac proving ground in Geumsan has a wet testing area covering an area of around 70,000m2, including a skid pad made up of three types of low mu road surface (asphalt, basalt, bridport) and a handling circuit consisting of 11 corners at a total length of 1,200m and a width of 6m.

The dry proving ground meanwhile, located next to Hankook's Geumsan factory and only 50km from the R&D center, covers a total area of around 200,000m2. There are 12 roads with 26 surfaces.

In 2014 Hankook began development of its new R&D hub in Daejeon, which will serve as the company's main R&D base. Aims are for the Technodrome to be operational later in 2016. Watch the video below to find out more about the company's R&D facilities. Click here for more information on the Technodrome.
